Well done on surviving the merriment.1

It’s a time for waxing nostalgic. Indulge me.

On this day last year, I had eight subscribers.

Five of them were closely related to me or lived with me (Joel). Two were irl friends. Only one was a person I’ve never met (they know who they who they are 🙋🏻‍♀️ thanks for being here so long 🙏).

Now, I realise that my last few posts have been mildly … critical of Substack. That’s ok. All great relationships are a bit love-hate. We only hate if we care? We criticise if we love?

These are the justifications for an abusive relationship?

Anyway.

My point is I have

to thank for almost 800 of you out there in Internet land finding my word-parcels and liking them enough to keep receiving them this year.

That is lovely. It fills me with gratitude and incredulity in equal measures.
